The girl has been breastfeeding well for 2 days now. NG tube is out, oxygen is off, and she even has all her monitoring leads off. The only thing that remains is her central line, which they will continue to use until she has received the complete course of antibiotics (2-3 more days). Barring any unforeseen events (e.g. the staph infection during previous hospitalization #2), we are on track to go home soon. We are actually getting bored...Rob and have started doing laps around the floor with Cora -- she seems to enjoy the change of scenery and the hustle and bustle of the nurses on the floor (I suppose mom and dad do too).
