Well, this morning we've started to make some progress. Cora got her NG tube out of her nose (that drains bile from her stomach), she's starting to get weaned off some of her drugs, and yesterday she pooped (we'll spare you the photo this time), which means the bowels are working fine after being manipulated a little during this recent surgery. She is still fighting the E. coli infection, which the surgeons are still baffled about, but probably derived from either a walled off abscess of infection in the peritoneum or a leakage at the repair site from one of her previous surgeries. She's resting peacefully now -- we'll see soon how she reacts to coming off the narcotics...this was perhaps the most difficult part of our previous hospital stay.

My heart dropped from seeing your daughter with all these tubes. I will keep her in my prayers. Stay strong.
