Tube's Out!

Yea! So the good news of the day is that they removed the ventilator tube from Cora at around 11:00 this morning and she has been breathing on her own all day. She is still a bit raspy-sounding and has a bunch of mucous she needs to cough up, but no signs that she needs to go back on the vent, so that's great. She also got her catheter and one of her IV's removed. Rob and I both got to hold her, in fact, he's holding her right now as I type. She was pretty agitated once her sedatives fully wore off, but doesn't quite have the strength for a full cry just yet. The doctors need to see her bile suction running clear (it is still pretty dark green) and see some signs of bowel movement before we are able feed her. She is slowly making some progress, which makes us really happy of course. -Molly
